City Sign Identify System Design Based On Local Culture

With our courtry's economic prosperity, Express highway, viaduct, city loop lines, new bridges, new stations and airports, new range of high-rise buildings, all this city sign form a complex urban traffic environment. City sign are symbolic carriers of the city dissemination of information, maintaining order and safety of life, played as a direct communication bridge between people and the environment, and taking complicated urban space to levels, coherent, simplified. By researching in this paper, the author would like to present the theory and methods of city sign identity system, find solutions to existing problems, and hope that the designers of cities study and research further on design of city sign identity system. The author hope this will has the effect of a Paozhuanyinyu.For the design of city sign identity system, the paper research it not only from the perspective of visual communication, but also from the view of symbols of urban imagery, environmental art, cartography, cognitive psychology, ergonomics, and other fields. Firstly, This article describes the social values and origin history of city sign identity system, and then starting from time and space of the system, three aspects of the system: beauty of images, wayfinding and formal beauty is presented,analysised and researched systemly. Regional culture characteristcs and systematic principles of city sign identity system are extended too. Lastly, by studing design of city sign identity system of Yong'an city in Fujian, design methods of city sign identity system based on local culture is presented.
