Now the historical conflicts for islands territory also continue to exist in the world. In 1982,the UK-Argentina Falklands war has provided the case in this domain that is worthy studying. Tweenty years over, the concerned research does not interrupt, but most concentrates in military aspect. In fact, solution to disputes depends on diplomocy rather than on simple war. The diplomacy war in Falklands war is far more complicate and intensive than millitary episode; it is of more instrumental significance to solving dispute between two countries. Thus, diplomacy's background, course, and impact relevant to war deserve our elaberating. But according to present research results, among other aspects, there is only fewsystemic studying about diplomacy. Therefore, this dissertation attampt to examine whole diplomacy course behind millitary war by integrating England, USA, and Argentine's diplomacy in Falklands war so as to disclose diplomacy's influence on this war. This dissertation can be divided into six parts. The first is the cause of war. It is illussion among England, USA, and Argentine that result in the war. England's fault of policy to the Falkland leads to Argentine's idea to resort to war. Conseqently, Argentine misunderstand some England's policy so that it consolid the resolution to retake the island by millitary. The junta taken power in 1976 analyzed internationnal situation and convinced itself that England wound not take intense actions because of declining. What's more, USA will keep neutral if not back due to their inmate relationship. A series of illusion prompt President Getiere to make his mind to retake islands by war in March 1982.The second part analyzes war's fuse---South Georgia incident. South the Georgia event is an accidental event, but in handling in this event, illussions among England,USA,and Argentine continues to promote, England maintains the low as far as possible the posture, in order to avoid stimulates Argentina, but Argentina by mistake reads as England to continue actually to delay; Argentina's threat in England looked like merely orally giving vent to, therefore has not been able to distinguish the war signal which clear soon erupts; Because US is busy with anti-communism,it has not taken serious the conflicts between two allies, moreover it thought England and Argentina are difficult for a minor matter. The third part highlights the clue of US's mediation, and has analyzed the English-Argentina diplomacy situation. Although the war carries on between England and Argentina, because England is in its military preparation stage and Argentina's strategic planning is the negotiations, it is the diplomacy for the first front, the military for the second front stage. Therefore Haig's mediation becomes the diplomatic master line. There are two viewpoints to Haig mediating goal: One, mediation, but has the bias; Two is US intentionally military preparation for England's to do covers up. In fact, US is strict with mediating, both is the important ally, loses any is all disadvantageous to US's global strategy. Both English and Argentina diplomacy's essential target strives for US's support. But way is different. England affects US from the side; Argentina believes stiffly US should help it or the strict observance neutrality, this kind of illusion has affected in the Haig mediation process military government's decision-making. Finally England's diplomatic posture gives Haig the good impression. Haig's pressure which was exerted to Argentina is regarded as US's bias due to Argentina's thought illusion, therefore it increasingly will not cooperate to Haig's mediation, Haig will be able not but to push the breakdown of negotiation responsibility for Argentina and announce US will support England. The fourth part elaborates that After May 1, Madame Thatcher chose the war. The primary cause Prime Minister Thatcher chose the war is: At the end of April, the task fleet arrived the Malvinas waters and completed the military preparation work; US announced supports for England after Haig's mediation encounted the defeat. To cope with the world consensus, England could not but negotiate for the negotiations; At the same time, continues to wave the airplane and the cannon, carries on the unceasing bombardment to Malvinas, establishes the barrier as the peace talks. Along with the casualties increase, the international society expressed the suspicion to England's motive, appealed cease-fire and the call is more and more high. Under such atmosphere, Argentina starts to coordinate United Nations's mediation positively, makes the significant concessions. The time does not allow England to negotiate again; May 20 is the negotiations deadline that England settles. Afterwards,"regardless of all not impossible to stop the military action with any means".The fifth part is about key analysis after May 20, the military situation is more and more advantageous to England, and Argentinine attempt is that useing world consensus defeat England in the diplomacy. This stage diplomacy has all created tremendous pressure for England, US, causes the difference between Britain and America.Argentina wins cease-fire resolution in the voting of the United Nations. By now England already staked everything on a single throw of the dice, thus, although Argentina's diplomacy saw the improvement, it could not actually change Madame Thatcher the determination which carried through to the end the war. England has used the veto to the resolution and advances the war rapidly. On June 15, Argentine army surrender. The sixth part is the war influence on the relations among British, USA and Argentind.Although England and Argentina have carried on a war for the Falkland islands sovereignty question, but what quite has satire meaning is the war has not solved this problem, the sovereignty ownership still is in the argument. The Falkland Islands War is an important event in the American and British special relations development, enable the 70's Britain and America relations that is seemingly agreed but actually at variance to obtain the consolidated and enhancement. This war consolidated Madame Thatcher and Reagan's individual relations as well as English and US's Atlantic partnership successfully. As for the war to USA-Argentina relational influence, the scholars all thought US supported England in the war to harm their relations greatly, but historically speaking, the conflict and the cooperation always was the relational main line of USA-Argentina, from this kind of angle of view analysis, their relations receives no harm, but returned to relational historical main line. And postwar Argentina stepped onto the democratized path。The Argentine master changed, the diplomatic route also could change correspondingly, therefore we could not exaggerate influence between the two countries'relations. Finally is the conclusion. The Falkland Islands War is the Atlantic principle's victory to the Pan-Americanism.The Falklands War first is appropriate annotation of the Atlantic principle.US finally with all its strength support England. Simultaneously the Falkland Islands War is a provisions station in British and American special relations development. After the war, the relations between the two countries exceptionally make. Britain and America provided the support mutually in the global strategy. The Falkland Islands War simultaneously causes the Pan-Americanism to suffer setbacks. The Falklands War deepened American and the Latin American nations idealition gap.Argentine inteArgentina's defeat also is Pan-Americanism suffering setbacks, has had the extremely disadvantageous influence to the Pan-Americanism.
