The Sino-Korean relationship during Qing Dynasty, which has always been the hot issue in the study of the relationships between China and foreign countries, occupies a significant position in the suzerain-vassal relationship in the history of ancient China. Taking Memoirs of the Korean Dynasty as the fundamental material and other literature material of Qing Dynasty and Korean kingdom as reference, this thesis tries to explicit the Korean view towards Chinese and barbarians in early Qing period and to reveal the development of Sino-Korean relationship during that period according to such view. The thesis is composed of five parts:The Introduction evaluated the circumscription of time and conception, current research achievements in the field of Sino-Korean relationship as well. The second part discussed the rising of Late Jin Dynasty and the conviction of honoring Ming Dynasty, that is, Korean identification with the suzerain status of Ming Dynasty. The emphasis of discussion during this period lied on the Battle between Late Jin regime and Korea in 1627, the Second Battle between them in 1636, the honor to Ming Dynasty and the scorn to Qing Dynasty showed by the Korea in the interaction between Korea and China at that time. Before the Battle between Late Jin regime and Korea in 1627, Korea has always kept a high profile towards Late Jin regime. While Qing Dynasty turned out to become the suzerain state of Korea after the two battles, Korea had no other choice but to accept the fact for the embarrassment of its weak national power, who meanwhile were definitely unwilling to identify with this kind of relation. This part mainly focused on the views towards China of Korea in a state of contradiction and struggle. The third part discussed the thought of rebelling Qing Dynasty and rebuilding Ming Dynasty held by Korea. During this period, Qing regime has just taken the power of the territory of mainland of China, however, the rule of Qing regime were still unsteady for the reason that the relic of Ming regime still remained, together with the Rebellion of the Three Warlords, the regime of Zhengs in Taiwan as well. The ruling class of Korean kingdom considered that the domination of Qing regime would continue being so unsteady that it is a great opportunity to rebuild Ming Dynasty and even plotted to put it into practice. The fourth part discussed the change of attitude of Korea towards Chinese during rule of KangXi and QianLong Emperors. With the development of the influence of Confucius, Qing Dynasty witnessed flourishing and prosperity as never before in politics, economy and culture. Facing the fact, Korea had to change its attitude towards Qing Dynasty and identified with its domination position, which was reflected in such aspects as appellation, etiquette and so on. Though Korean's grateful emotion towards Ming regime's help offered in the Japanese Pirates Invasion in 1592 still remained and was even expressed in the way of constructing the DaBao Altar, it's noting but only a kind of superficial form. The identification with Qing Dynasty has reached agreement. The fifth part is Conclusion, which elucidated reasons of such views and come into the conclusion of the thesis as follows: No matter the views of Korea towards China is the support to Ming regime, or the change of identification with Qing regime, what Korea respected is the brilliant and prosperous civilization of Chinese nation rather than a certain feudal dynasty.
