In the study of Chinese phonology, uniting the poem rhyming word is an important method. Firstly, this thesis collect widely the poetry of Xiang Nan in Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty, and list the rhyming characters,and calculate the rhyming times, concluding the vowel department, throughoutly taking the sound system of GuangYun (广韵) as the comparison. At the same time, we analyze the cross rhyming and research out some characters of Xiang Nan dialect in Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty, in order to accumulate the valuable voice material for Chinese pronunciation history and dialectal transliteration history.By a thorough relation and investigation of3794poems(2212piece poems of GuTiShi,1582piece poems of JinTiShi) written by197poets in Xiang Nan in Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty,we draw the following conclusions:1. The18rhyming categories occurred in the collection of Gu Ti Shi in Xiang Nan, and23rhyming categories occurred in the collection of GinTiShi in Xiang Nan.2.There were many HeYun phenomena among those difference rhyming categories:[n] and [(?)] two terminal vowels mixed greatly,[m] and [n] two terminal vowels mixed greatly,"Ru sheng yun"(入声韵) classified correspondingly into the "Yin sheng yun"(阴声韵),part of the voiced falling-rising tone readed falling tone.3.We find some HeYun that can reflect the characteristics of the Xiang Nan local accent, for example category Gengqing(庚')contacts with category Dongzhong(东锺)or category Jiangyang(江阳),Huihai(灰哈)with Jiama (家麻),Wuzhu(屋烛) with Yaoduo(药铎)or Zhixi(质昔),Yumo (鱼模) with Youhou (尤侯),Zhiwei(支微) with Huihai(灰哈),Gege(歌戈)with Xiaohao(宵豪), level tone with falling-rising tone and falling tone,Yin rhyme with Yang rhyme.4. We point out some special rhyming words, that their voice were antique or developing.
