Evolution Of The History Of Traditional "Xiao" Ethics And Reflection In Contemporary Society

In order to accurately grasp the meaning of " Xiao" ethics, we should understand it on three levels: firstly, " Xiao" ethics was a family criterion of ethics, it was reflected in the parent-child ethical relationship .Secondly, " Xiao" ethics was the sense of national ethical guidelines form in feudal society ,and it was not only embodied in the social morality of the political contents of the value of traditional Chinese social but also was an important part of political ethics .Thirdly, " Xiao" ethics was the cultural traditions of the Chinese nation, and it was a cultural pattern combined with political, economic, cultural and moral in the long historical development."Xiao" ethics referred to the ethical relationship between the parents and children at first, however, "Xiao" ethics was continuously absorbed into the political, economic, cultural, religious and other moral standards in the history of the evolution process, which became a cultural pattern that could reflect the final form of China's feudal society and the basic characteristics of the traditional culture. In the history of evolution of "Xiao" ethics, the connotation of political ethics and culture in it continued to develop and change, but the ethical relations of family, as an origin of human relations, did not. Founding out these changes and the unchangeableness of "Xiao" ethics in the historical evolution from an ethical point of view has great value for reference of us.With the wheel of history Rolling forward into modern society, the world of any state and the nation are faced with the question of modernization in the process of modernization. How to inherit and carry forward the national spirits and national traditions is a universal problem of the times, so it is with "Xiao" ethics, as a foundation of traditional culture. This requires us to make a comprehensive review on "Xiao" ethics, accurately acquire its essence and contents, exactly make out its function and value, and build such a moral standard which can promote individuals and our society to develop harmoniously based on the characteristics of our nation.This paper is divided into four parts to identify our points. In part one , we pointed out the origin of "Xiao" ethics and made a simple statement, then explained its connotations .In part two, we reviewed the historical evolution of traditional " Xiao" ethics, and focused on the essence of historical evolution of traditional " Xiao" ethics. In part three, we compared the traditional "Xiao" ethics with contemporary "Xiao" ethics to identify the similarities and differences between them. In part four, we discussed how to develop "Xiao" ethics in order to build a harmonious relationship among all aspects in contemporary society.
