This paper made an elaborate analysis to the phase of nominal"N+V". The main body is constructed of three parts. In the first part, we defined the phase of nominal"N+V". Firstly, we made a boundary of the phase of"N+V"by distinguishing compound words from phases and breviary words from phases. Secondly, according to the grammatical position of a phase of"N+V"in sentences, we can make an original judgment whether the phase of"N+V"is a nominal phase or not. As regards the phase which lies in a sentence of"subject or object", we can make a further judgment that the phase is a nominal or not by adding a preposition. If a preposition can't be added appropriately before the"noun", then it can be viewed as a nominal phase. Finally, we discussed some cases which can not be determinated as phases of"N+V"easily and the transitional character between a nominal phase and a verbal phase of"N+V".In the second part, the role of case in nominal phase"N+V"is analyzed. We demonstrate semantic relations and theories of cases between"N"and"V"of the phase. Then two types of"N object +V"and"N not-object +V"are classified and the role of case of"N"is depicted elaborately. Some illustrations of the phase are discovered at the first time the"N"of which can't be concluded into any role of case. The type of"N object +V"is the main form, which proves that it is really consistent for the phase reverse and the functional deviation between the nominal phase and the headword"V"of the phase. The third part separately discussed of its characteristics of N and V of the phase, and some correlation problems. Then each not-typical characteristic is concluded of nouns and verbs in semantics, syntax, and function. The ambiguity of the phase is eliminated when the noun is a noun of Time. Moreover, we demonstrate the relation between V of the nominal"N+V"phases and verb valence, which proves that it is also consistent to the reasons for most syntax relations in nominal"N+V"phases are"N object +V"and for majorities in the verbs of nominal"N+V"phases are two-valence.The main conclusion of this paper is that nominal"N + V"phases are formed not only by bidirectional selection between nouns and verbs, but also can be reflected by some not-typical characteristics of nouns and verbs.
