Since the 1950s, there are two large-scale film adaptation about a group of revolutionary historical novels which were created in 1950s. The first adaptation appeared in the 17 years (from the founding of the PRC to the Cultural Revolution), another from the 1990s until now. Two face the same adaptation of the text, but walk into different approach. The first walk into the sacred, idealistic line, get a great success; second walk into the secular life of the line, caused enormous contention. The focus of controversy on the film adaptation was the revolutionary hero's image-building, 1950's and 1960's tall and glorious, noble and perfect hero to now, has become hooligans, the master of love, sensitive youth idols. These fictions is then strive to create Hero images, features of film and television media have also decided to create a series of distinct characters.So, who became top priority, concentrated expression of creative ideas and creative consciousness on the text of the novel and film version of, the carrier of cultural thinkings. Papers regard the image of a hero as the micro-miniature of social and cultural context, explore that as the embodiment of the national theme, adaptation into film walked in the double-yoke walk of politics and the arts, adaptation into TV Plays exhausted with involved in the trial of strength of the political, commercial and artistic, but red classics remains the same impulse of their participation in the construction of the modern nation-state, only slip from the political construction to the culture roots with the social context from political-dominant to culture- dominant.Paper is composed of the introduction, body and the conclusion.Introduction explains the current situation of study on film adaptation of red classics.Main part proves attentively differences and common ground of these two adaptation, to look into the future through the Nostalgia.First chapter mainly explore the formation process of "red classics" title and the rich content,"Red classics"title was been set up later, specifically refer to the long novels in 1950s and 1960s which see the Sino-Japanese War and the revolutionary history of the liberation war. Red classics are the crystallization of political needs and artistic charm, with rich and multi-level content, enormous space of interpretation, are the return of the traditional heroic legends and ethics, the magnificent picture of war and revolution, also the East romantic epic.The second part analyses the first red classics adaptation - the film adaptation. As the red rational wan been cultivated by war, this adaptation met the needs of the state ideology and the public express tough and victory years, with popular culture form to express nostalgia mood, shape a more pure hero, conducted ideological indoctrination, completed the building purposes of Social structure and cultural fabric.The adaptation has a tremendous impact on the structure of the Chinese people psychological, became the foundation of adapted into TV Plays at the end of the 20th century.The third chapter focuses on the controversy and the cause of red classics adaptation into TV Plays. In the context of post-revolution cultural, Gong nong Bing literary of the mass culture resists the vulgarization of adaptation. there is a surging desire of reconstruction of their own culture and the restless fervent in a period of national increasing in the great tide of nostalgia at the end of the 20th century.Part IV is intended to explore the road of the adaptation of the red classics. By comparing several different adaptation forms, the paper strives to find the fundamental problem of adaptation, points out the significance and direction of adaptation.On the basis of the text, Closing remarks will relate the study of red classic adaptation to the study of literature in 17 years, holds that based on that adaptation of red classics has huge value in the 20th century literary studies and in the new era of cultural studies.
