To observe life from the angle of view of Taoism is the important part of Lin Yutang's thought. In the novel Moment in Peking, Lin formed a kind of philosophy where Taoism is the foundation and confucism is applied. He tried to have human nature balanced between the society order and universe and nature.This essay mainly consists of four parts, the part of Introduction included. The part of Introduction states Lin's alternative process about Taoism philosophical angle of view. View of Literature and view of politics. The first chapter approaches the reflection of Taoism in which everything is determined by fate and everything is cyclic. The second chapter states the tragic awareness towards life in Moment in Peking. The last chapter approaches Taoism which advocates doing nothing that goes against nature and being leisurely and carefree.
