Research On "Images About Western Clean World" In Stone-carvings Of The Tang Dynasties In Sichuan

As Buddhism was introduced into China from India. Buddhist art was flourished in China. It was proved that Sichuan has long history in stone-carving from stone-carving in Eastern Han Dynasties tomb to South-north Dynasties. From Suitang Dynasties, Cliff Carving in centre of China was spread to Sichuan. There are many stone-carving in North Sichuan. In the middle of Tang Dynasties, Buddhist art began to fall into a decline in central plain, There are special reason in political and economical , Buddhist art are renaissance in Sichuan area.In many Tang Dynasties cliff carving, I was interested in studying the "Images about Western Clean World", which was spread in Sichuan area, from south to north, western to eastern in Sichuan. My article collected and arranged all of the Tang Dynasties "Images about Western Clean World" in Sichuan. Compare to every style of the "Images about Western Clean World", and try to find the connection and difference in style and content to find their rule.There are four parts of my thesis:First: a brief history of the "Images about Western Clean World" . Second: introduction of these Cliff Carving in Sichuan area The three part; compare every style "Images About Western Clean World" , I' determined its characteristic. And the last is a sum up of my thesis.
