The subject of this dissertation, Schubert's "Sonata in G-major" (D894)which was also regarded as a "Fantastic Sonata", is the last one of the threesonatas published only before composer's death.In this dissertation, the author try to research from the editorial specialityof this work, and then discuss the issue about its genre identification whichemerged afterwards, as well as the classification and comparison of the variouseditions include this work can be connected. The author hopes this research to behelpful for edition study and interpretation of this work and the other pianopieces of Franz Schubert.The main body of this dissertation is constituted by four chapters: the firstconcerns the first editions of this sonata and the following problem about itsgenre identification, as well as classifying and summarizing of various notations.The three others respectively compare the details of different editions based onthe musical connotation, sound characters and styles of that period.In the conclusion, the author expounds her own opinions and thoughts aboutthis domain: the performer should research his repertory base on the musicalcontent, sound characters and style of composer's period as well as hispersonality, compare the various editions and the details inside the work, andget an individual interpretation idea and performing way finally with a respectto the original text and contemporary style of the work.
