Tragedy involves sadness and distress; illustrates that the nature power of human must be defeated with subjective conditions; confirms the existence, dignity and valuation of human; and gives the power to people. Any tragedies are the combination of two elements which are the tragic consciousness and the tragic spirits, but the combination proportion of these two components is little different because of the influence of the time, society, nation and the diversities of the subjective condition of writers.Our national tragic spirits are not such strong as the prolonged accumulation of the traditional culture. Thus, the real begin of the Chinese tragic spirits is from modern literature. Modern writers apperceive the rejection of traditional culture against modern civilization, and try to explore the destruction of worth of human being and the cause of the dilemma of the national existence according to the discovery and confirmation of independent spirits of people. Coming into the contemporary literature age, especially after the new time literature, the attentions of writers are mainly paid in the nature of human, but not the previous view that the social effect of peoples'awakening rose from tragedy. At the moment, a fresher in literati during the 1990's, whose name is Bi Feiyu, created many literatures focusing on the substantial and spiritual life of people which enriches the contemporary tragedy. As a result, the purpose of this dissertation is importantly on discussing the tragic literatures of Bi Feiyu who make a change of his style to realism."…The best apparently cause of a literature is its writer, so, it is the best basic literary research method that doing an explanation of literature starting at the characters and the background of its writer…". Hence, the dissertation firstly begins in analyzing Bi's life experience to explore the cause of his tragic consciousness.The main effect elements resulting in the generation of Bi's tragic consciousness are the time environment and the families'environment.Bi Feiyu was born in 1964, his childhood was experiencing the special period in China history. It was the culture revolution lasted ten years, it ruined everything in China. Thus, people were suffering from the huge dual hurt of physics and spirits. The life misfortune and the bad nature of people, therefore, left a deep impression in Bi's sensitive mind when he was little. Survival was people due right, but there were many traps hidden around people, which set many obstructions for survival, and make plights of survival. This also planted a seed that put emphases on existence and spiritual existence in his mind. Bi's father was an orphan, so lacking of families history blurred the concept of ME reflected by surrounding environment in Bi's eyes.'Survival'is the only real and certain stuff. Before 23 years old, Bi had lived in China largest to the smallest administrative unit zoning, this led him know the deepest meaning of life, gained the unique life experiences and feeling which were different to have by ordinary people, led his novel created in many views, and portrayed characters in his novel clearly and vividly. Bi's creations start at ordinary people to show their tragedy through vivid and exact description.
