This thesis concerns English language teaching methods and culture elements related to teaching. In particular, it focuses on the role of films in providing insights for teachers of English as a foreign language into the methods used by natives. The film Dangerous Minds as a primary evidence is studied in this thesis. This thesis adopts the research method of visual ethnography, which was realized by observing the film and taking evidentiary notes related to the dialogues and actions in it. It was used to investigate English language teaching methods and culture elements shown in the film Dangerous Minds. In terms of these pedagogic considerations, teaching methods based on Humanistic Approach were explored. Factors that affect language learning, such as learners'self-esteem and motivation, were found. In terms of the cultural aspects related to English language teaching/learning, the relationship between language and race and one's philosophy of research-based knowledge production have all been documented and analyzed.Successful teaching is not equal to successful learning. They work together to achieve the goal. Hence, Miss Johnson (in Dangerous Minds) uses various teaching methods based on Humanistic Approach in helping her students to achieve a sense of satisfaction from their education.
