In recent years, Professor Galal Walker who is from Ohio State University has created a new kind of didactics-Performed Culture Approach. Performed is short for experience and practice. The goal of this kind of approach is drilling culture. It believes that learning a second language is to experience and practice this cultural behavior.Performed Culture Approach attaches great importance to the cultural factors which influence on the use of the language and pay attention to practical communication in the real context. The concept of this kind of approach has the same purpose with oral teaching, emphasizing the actual communication in real environment. At present, the research on the didactics is mainly for the European and American students. As for Thai students, the practice study is almost zero. The author took the opportunity to practice in Thailand and applied the didactics in the junior oral teaching, in order to enrich the teaching methods of oral Chinese in Thailand.This article is divided into five parts:The introduction is in the first part. In this part, it mainly introduces the research background, purpose, significance and so on and reviews the Performed Culture Approach and the study of teaching oral Chinese as a foreign language.The second part is about the introduction of Performed Culture Approach, which mainly discusses the basic concept, teaching principle, teaching mode and strategy.The third part studies the current situation of oral Chinese teaching, expounds the teaching objectives, teaching contents and teaching materials of oral Chinese teaching at the elementary level, and takes advantage of the investigation to analyze the present situation of Chinese oral teaching in Thailand.In the fourth part, according to the teaching idea of Performed Culture Approach, the specific teaching cases are designed and applied to the Chinese oral teaching.The fifth part is the summary of this paper. It induces and arranges the main contents and conclusions of the research and points out the shortcomings of this paper and the future research directions.
