Analysis And Research Of The Influence Of Postmodernism On Modern Visual Communication Design

The Visual Communication Design is always influenced by the artistic ideological trend in its times during the process of its development. These effects are usually shown as the art schools'influence on the Visual Communication Design. Nowadays, the postmodernism is the main trend of art. So, it is inevitable for today's Visual Communication Design to be affected greatly by the postmodernism.However,up to data, Western Scholars haven't reached a common views on the postmodernism. So, a generally accepted definition does not exist. People usually apply the art schools'influence on Visual Communication Design to discuss the influences of postmodernism on Visual Communication Design. Few people's discussion about influences of Western postmodernism on Visual Communication Design is based on the culture. As a result, a comprehension to the postmodernistic design is often superficial, which leads to designer's lack of self-confidence.In this paper, the concept of Visual Communication Design is brought forward by the means of putting postmodernism into the society and culture system at the time.Then, art schools of postmodernism and how postmodernism influences Visual Communication Design are discussed. The paper will analyze what is modernism before discuss what is postmodernism because only understand which is modernism at first then we can understand which is postmodernism. At the end of this article, Visual Communication Design's development in the future is discussed.Some new viewpoints are brought forward in this paper. Such as, the discussion of Visual Communication Design should combine with the social situation in which postmodernism is born; the postmodernism and Visual Communication Design will continue to be multiplex in the future that we can expect.The paper provides some basic theories on Visual Communication Design, which is helpful for designers to grasp the direction of modern art and join actively multiplex design.
