Korean Peninsula, at the geographic hub of the Northeast Asia, is located among the China, Japan and Russia. In its history, Korean Peninsula was repeatedly drawn into the vortex of contention among the powerful countries because of its particular strategic significance. From the end of 19th century to the middle of 20th century, Whenever Korean Peninsula was caught into the crisis which was fighted by the big countries, the theory of Korean Peninsula's Neutralization would be pushed up on the political stage, but each time it couldn't be put into practice. After the Cold War, the situation in Northeast Asia has eased off. Moreover, it also discusses the purpose ,contents and failure causes of this theory ,which was advanced by many big countries and Chosun Dynasty itself. The third part: the theory of Korean Peninsula's Neutralization during Cold War. At the beginning of Cold War, Korean Peninsula was divided into two countries and American authorities put forward the theory of Korean Peninsula's Neutralization during the time of the Korean War, which aimed to adopt the way of neutralization and reunification under the predominance of Republic of Korea. This part bases on the process of the theory of Korean Peninsula's Neutralization released by American authorities and analyses the reason that the theory failed to be carried out during this period. Meanwhile, it also points out the fact that this theory began to withdraw the vision of American official gradually. The fourth part: the theory of Korean Peninsula's Neutralization after Cold War. In this part, the author have analysed some factors that can influence the fulfillment of this theory and made his own judgement about this theory's fulfillment, all of which is combined with the developmental situation of Northeast Asia after Cold War and based on the contents of the theory of Korean Peninsula's Neutralization in the new era(mainly brought up by South Korean scholars). The fifth part: conclusion. This part briefly makes the summary to the main text and further expresses the standpoint of fulfillment of this theory. In history, the theory of Korean Peninsula's Neutralization, which was firstly brought forward by the related big countries and then all failed, was closely related to China. Whether the Korean Peninsula could become the permanent neutral country through the way of neutrality and reunification, it directly relates to the national interest of China. The author believes Chinese diplomacy can adapt the current developmental trend and build the peaceful, win-win and friendly relationships with two countries on Korean Peninsula.
