This M.A. thesis inspected the attributive of "mei", the syntagmatic relation characteristics of "mei" and the Corresponding Sentence of the Numeral Structure which show the constant meaning."mei" shows two attributives as determiner and adverb, on which this thesis start.the Deictic pronouns of Modern Chinese, such as "mei", " ren he", "suo you" do not refer to the pronominal functions, just refer to definitial functions; but such as "zhe", "na",they refer to both the pronominal function and the definitial function. Therefore, we believe that pronominal function is not a common feature of them, it is the definitial function. We think the deictic pronouns in Modern Chinese as a determiner. As a determiner, " mei" definites the head of the NP as a universal quantifier and indefinite determiner. On the performance characteristics of the syntagmatic relation of "mei" as follows: becoming a Noun Phrase by relating to a Numeral Phrase. Based on the classes of classifiers, there are three types of the "mei+Numeral phrase" structure, as follows:â… . mei + Numeral Nominal Classifier,â…¡. mei + Numeral +Verb Classifier,â…¢. mei + Numeral +Compound Classifier. Through the inspection, we found that "mei + Numeral Phrase" structural object in the rear position is limited for pragmatic factors, because "mei+ Numeral Phrase" is a universal Quantificational Noun Phrase which have a strong trend of being in front of the predicate verb.As an adverb, the modifying to verb by "mei" expresses the meaning as follows: the occurrence of the same action repeated regularly, the actions in time are universal, the action in time is nonidentifiable, the verb shows zero dynamic, and the Tense of the sentence is constant. The difference between "mei" and other adverbs is that "mei + VP" can not be self-contained as a sentence, just as an adverbial. The Corresponding Sentence of the Numeral Structure is divided into Constant Sentence and Event Sentence. The Event Sentence is a sentence which expresses an independent and complete event. It presented at a particular time of the event. Constant Sentence descripts the regular occurrence, no specific time, no specific scenarios, with the constant meaning. After inspected two types of the Corresponding Sentence of the Numerial Structure, the conclusion as follows:To the sentence of "Numeral Phrase+ (V) + Numeral Phrase ",in the Constant sentence requires the verb is zero dynamic, the former Numeral Phrase must be universal and nonidentifiable, or it is an Event sentence. To the "V + Numeral Phrase,V + Numeral Phrase" sentence, the actions in time are universal, the action in time is nonidentifiable, the verb in later Numeral Phrase shows zero dynamic. To the Corresponding Sentence of the Numeral Structure, in the condition of without "mei", the former Numeral Phrase /V + Numeral Phrase can not meet the utterance meaning's requirements. Syntactic structure gives the former Numeral Phrase /V + Numeral Phrase a zero-determiner or zero-adverb similar as "mei", to ensure that it is universal and nonidentifiable; this is the way in which the Corresponding Sentence of the Numeral Structure realize its "mei" meaning.
