The Study On Figures Of Duanmuhongliang's Novels

Duanmuhongliang(Duanmu is the abbreviation of it as following) is a unique writer in the history of Chinese modern literature. His rough fate and his unique style of the creation of literary works triggered a growing number of researchers, and have achieved fruitful research results. Duanmu described many characters, they had distinctive character and very aesthetic value, although the researchers also have been concerned the characters, but overall, they are lack of a comprehensive analysis relatively. The paper will sort out the characters described by Duanmu from three aspects ,the political discourse, personal discourse,and male discourse, and I hope that the readers can have a new understanding and grasp of the Duanmu's novels.Except the preface and the conclusion, the paper is divided into three parts.Preface: This part has a brief overview of the status in the Duanmu's research, and shows the main purpose of this paper.Part I: The images under political discourse . This series of specific characters include three categories: First, the intellectuals, through the description of the generation of intellectuals, the conflict of their ideal and the reality, exposing their spiritual pain and plight and also to convey the author's strong sense of social responsibility and sense of mission; Second, the peasants, through the performance of the original barbaric vitality of the northeast farmers , it implied the author'expectations of the re-creation of the national character and the of reviving the national spirit; Third, the petty bourgeoisie, through the description of the petty bourgeoisie'selfish and hypocritical nature, it expressed author'cynical character and deep social care.Part II: The characters under personal discourse. Through the analysis of the "self" images, the myth of characters and the fable figures, the images the author mainly described had changed from the focus on images'social function to the care of individual life.Part III: The female images under male discourse. Duanmu described three female images including the Labor women from understratum, upper aristocratic women and the women on edge of the city ,and this part of the paper will analye the female images'unique charm, we can find the author'position of the male discourse from his strongly subjective feelings.Conclusion: Make a summary of the paper, we can find Duanmu's thinking changes of the creation and the stick of the life experience from the changes of the images that Duanmu described.
