The period of Ming-Qing dynasties was a time of tremendous changes. It was the turbulent times and severe social crisis that caused scholars rethinking about the academic, therefore, the trend of rethinking about comment and summary of Neo-Confucianism appeared, which strived to rectify the shallow malpractice of the lowest social class of the school of Wang Yangming, and criticized the holly style of study, which merely valued the thing-itself, but not took the work seriously, and stressed accomplishing body and conserved temper in"studying and acting"and"tramping". It initiated the trend of realism of ChuHsi, giving up the emptiness of material world and going in for the real learning, and advocating the concrete evidence, and paying attention to managing affairs. Neo-Confucianism took on the new diversities.Tang Bin(1627—1687), was an important moralist between the Ming-Qing dynasties, he inherited the Neo-Confucianism thought from his teacher Sun Qifeng, and developed it. The most important thing was he put the developed Neo-Confucianism thought into practice of daily life and politics, and this became the most important and special part of his thought. That was to say, he not only was a moralist, but also a man who practiced his thought.Neo-Confucianism thought of Tang Bin was based on the thought of Wang Yangming, and also learned from Chengzhu, emphasized statecraft, practiced what he preaches. On the specific background of the times, his thought adjusted because of the disadvantages of Wang Yangming's thought. So, it was morderate and had a strongly feature of being pragmatic, presented a scholarship direction in his times, and had spirits and consciousness of times.Therefore, it is necessary to explain the social condition of the times, from the society and academy, for understanding the produce of his Neo-Confucianism thought, and carding and investigating his thought, and trying to reveal the realism character, fully affirming his academic status that he deserved.
