| From the point of view of cultural and psychological study this dissertation observes how the art style of graffiti developed from its original from to its modern and post-modern forms, thus reveals the cultural and psychological nature of this art style. To establish my theory I take into reference the results of studies in many fields such as the primitive thinking, the theory of imagery and the vision psychology. What I try my best to prove is that the development of graffiti may have its special rationality in China.In the first chapter I make a definition to the Graffiti on the cultural and psychological. Began with a linguistic study on how the word graffiti came into being I comb the different comments on graffiti and their contemporary contexts appeared in the past fifty years and I classify those historical comments as four sorts: rebelling, folks, popular and temporarily.The second chapters concluded that the art of graffiti which original from the West developed well in China, which stresses the analysis to the concrete circumstances in comprehending the subjective way of action and its motivation. After the exploration of the original forms of graffiti and the development of graffiti in China, in section two and three ,I analysis the exterior environment of graffiti. On the one hand, large quantities business enterprises are beneficial to the universality of graffiti despite business-graffiti is not real graffiti. On the other hand, the tolerate attitude that Chinese government treat graffiti is also good exterior environment that the development of it. The reason for it mostly is Chinese graffiti art develop later than the West and there are many experiences learned.In the third chapter,My focus is then fixed to the development of graffiti may have its special rationality in China from the essence of it ,which include two ways of writer and object. In China, writers embark on graffiti are younger past 80s mostly. They have the spirit of rebelling which fit together with the characteristic of graffiti. In addition, Chinese population and many building are the facility to the development of graffiti.the exterior environment of graffiti.In the conclusion I make a simple-lined diachronic description of graffiti and point out it may develop well in China. Regardless from the graffiti itself and the exterior environment, we have many beneficial conditions to develop the art of graffiti. Finally, I must point out at the same time that the characteristics mentioned above are referred only relatively: graffiti is still in a state of variation. |
