Chinese War of Resistance Against Japan is a nationwide anti-aggression war in which all social strata, all parties, all ethnic groups have become the anti-Japanese forces. In the united front under the organizational form, the representatives from the parties were standing at the forefront of the times and leading the Long-drawn-out battle against Japan. Accounting for half of the population, the Chinese women have also stepped out of the family, and started an unprecedented close contact with politics.As the "First Lady of the Republic", Soong Mei-ling, with her own competence and the quality of special status, has built her political life of the brilliant in the eight-year war of resistance. On the international front, her visiting to the United States and Canada and the attending of the Cairo Conference not only had earned China, but also made her personal political prestige reach a peak. Inside the county, she had created three major women's groups for national salvation: in August 1937, establishing the Chinese Woman Community to Support the Servicemen in the Anti-Japanese War for comprehensive recruitment and wartime service; in March 1938, establishing the Chinese Wartime Children Care and Raising Organization for relief fund-raising, protection and education for children; in July 1938 restructuring the former organization and establishing the New Win Woman Steering Committee for training of women cadres, production logistics, creating urban and rural services and the development of cultural undertakings.The women's work of Soong Mei-ling in the Anti-Japanese War had some clear characteristics of the times. Firstly, the special status of "the First Lady," was a benefit to unite the Government and social resources, which had given her a great political advantage to carry out the work. Secondly, followed by Services for the purpose of the Anti-Japanese War, rescue work presented great diversity. Finally, relying on branches, women's rescue activities have had a certain universality and power of influence. At the same time, Soong Mei-ling's wartime work of women have had a profound impact on the cause of the Anti-Japanese War as well as Chinese women for it had provided the corresponding spiritual force, physical protection, and also undoubtedly, played an important role in the continuation of national stem and the promotion of Chinese women's awakening. Of course, there are also certain limitations in her wartime work of women during the Anti-Japanese War.To sum up, Soong Mei-ling's wartime work of women is an important factor of China's victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan. Soong Mei-ling herself is also an influential Patriot.
