The Analysis On The Meaning Of "Hui" In Chinese Words Or Phrases With "Hui"

"hui"is a color term indicating color of object ,which attracts few people.This paper is to find the meaning system of word"hui"based on corpus together with the analysis of its extension ways and metaphor or metonymy.By finding the meanings of "hui"and analyzing the reasons of their formation to enrich the study of Chinese colors .Chapter1 section 1 inducts Origin of the word"hui"'s meaning, points out that it extends material ,verb and feeling meanings from its basic meaning"ash",the appearance of colour"hui"is after them. it began to extends"between legal and illegal","ambiguous","potential,hidden"etc for western literature.section 2 aggregates eighteen meanings of "hui"on the basis of corpus.section 3 analyzes"hui"from its meaning system, "hui"'s meaning extends from verb, material, color.
