Searching is an ancient prototype motif of literature and culture, such as searching for the Holy Grail,Golden Wool, Water of Life. The Divine Commedy of Dante,Faust of Goethes and The Pilgrim's Progress of Bunyan are all the classics of searching model in the western literature. Many writers have re-written the story of searching. As a worldwide famous writer in the 20th century,so has Beckett. His famous novel trilogy Molloy,Malone Dies and The Unnamable break the model of traditional novels and carry out the method of " drilling" language ,the creative way of weakening the plot to show the conflict and contradiction of human beings and life, human beings and the world. This paper chooses Beckett's trilogy as research object and takes the texts as a cut to discuss the literary theme of searching and contemporary culture significance of Beckett's trilogy. This paper is divided into introduction ,the body(three chapters), and conclusion.Introduction: Card the present study situation of Beckett at home and abroad. Expound the purpose and significance of this paper.Chapter One: Discuss the modern narrative vanguard experiment of the trilogy and focus on the multiple narrative, the maze problems of language. The characters, plots and language of the trilogy are full of the debris of uncertainty, the confusion of contradictory and the color of paradox. They strengthen the theme of searching from the art.Chapter Two: Discuss the tradition of western Picaresque Novels and the searching theme of the modernism literature as Beckett's novels from the significance of the history of European and American literature. Beckett's trilogy inherit the tradition of the western Picaresque Novels and expand the motif, mode of (self-)searching from the body roaming under the surveillance of power mechanism, the spirit roaming driven by the creation of literature and the identity roaming caused by the uncertainty of language. In the siginificance of literature history, this reflect the sense of crisis and alienation theme features and so on,as well as the innovation of literary narrative of the western modernism literature in the 20th century.Beckett's trilogy also have rich contemporary significance at the philosophy and aesthetics level.Chapter Three:Summarize the contemporary significance of Beckett's trilogy. Analyze the bilingual writing of Beckett and by analyzing Beckett's drama freedom, discuss the purpose that the searching theme of the trilogy wants to achieve and reflect the pain that the main characters suffer. Beckett shows the confusion and distress of human beings excellently and embodies the literary ideals and humanistic concerns of the Nobel Prize of Literature in the form of new novels and dramas. Conclusion:The searching of the main characters in the novels is different from the heroic searching in the epics。They subvert the motto "I think, therefore I am" that Descartes said. They struggle and search for themselves in the body, language, identity recognition and so on. Their survival condition reflect the helplessness and struggling state of the contemporary people to survive in the world from a side.
