Talking about the description of suffering in the modern and current literature, we can trace back to the works of Luxun and Maodun, who described the suffering of thousands peasants who inhabited in the countryside of China in the early 20th century. Those preliminary suffering description produced a great shock among people. The suffering, through its unique and solid strength, infused those works with spiritual depth. At the turn of 21st century, the human society changed a lot, especially in China; being short of macroscopic, whole and historical viewpoint the literature field was very difficult to exactly grasp the similarity and difference between this period with the new literary tradition just after the May 4 Movement. So it was more difficult to investigate the complicated causes of those differences. Based on all those, author, integrated with status quo and social ideology, tried to discuss the dislocation and historical aspiration of those suffering. In the historical viewpoint, taking the novels of Huxuewen, a writer of Hebei province, as an example, the author through macroscopic summary and microscopic analysis ways tried to discuss the consistence and variation of the suffering narration and expected to expose the property of the times, the characteristic of the ideology, unconsciousness of the history, the community and the personal elements of the writers which form the suffering narration through Huxuewen's unique narrative ways and suffering experience. Then it will offer some useful experience and lessons for our literature writing, especially the suffering narration. Through those experience and lessons, we can feel the basic plight which the suffering narration meets in the consumerism times.Since May 4 Movement, those great words such as countries, times, revolution, people and national benefit are always standing highly behind the description of the suffering. The personal suffering always has a close relationship with those lofty and noble words, at the same time becomes the miniature suffering of his country, nationality, times and people. During the most parts of the 20th century, in the chinese literature, the personal suffering always modified by those common current words such as country, nationality, history, society, classes, revolutionary etc. and worked as legal support to narrate and prove all those lofty words.China literature made a rapid transfer from the traditional solemn literature to consumerism literature since the 1990s. Both the lofty narration which had lasted so long in chinese literature and the aesthetic experience which advocate the depth and suffering began to be replaced by emotional and superficial perceptual ways. Shaking off the yoke of national ideology, literature readjusts its relationship with life. Literature has not been an appendage of ideology, and the viewpoint of suffering narration also begins to concern about the daily life instead of fabricating a splendid ideal or myth to suffer others.Just shaking off the yoke of the political ideology, the suffering narration fell unconsciously into the control of the consumerism. In order to cater to the popular entertainment of the consumerism times, the writers, such as Huxuewen etc. deliberately diminished the tragic and aesthetic effect of the suffering. It is harm for the literature to be overburdened, on the other hand it is difficult to sustain if the works are out of balance or short of spirit support. The writers, like Zhangchengzhi etc. who lived at the end of last century, expected to guard a spiritual realm for the human through the description of the suffering, and they failed to open a smooth path for the suffering narration of the age of consumerism. Though the writers, like Huxuewen etc. who lived at the turn of this century, tried to make the suffering narration cater to the popular aesthetic of the consumerism age, they blasphemed the original spiritual radiance of the suffering. Under their pens, the suffering narration displayed a state which can not bear the life's lightness.
