In the 90s of the 20th century, with the establishment of a market economy, the reform of household registration system, the adjustment of rural industrial structure, a large number of migrant workers appeared in most of big cities. The emergence of this special group of migrant workers makes their living conditions attract the attention of many writers. The migrant workers become the topic not only in a large amount of literary magazines, but also in a number of film and television works. Although the directors have their own different expression, there is a same tone in these films and televisions, which is to tend to shape migrant workers as the image of the suffering. The analysis of the texts, which show the suffering of migrant workers image and narrative tendencies and trends, and the exploration of the profound implication behind ,it will have some practical significance.There are four chapters in this thesis in addition to the introduction and conclusion parts. The introduction is used to define the main thesis of this study, the suffering images of migrant workers, the concept of research object and the limit of time, and to sort films about migrant workers since 80s of the 20th century. Chapter 1: Based on the film about migrant workers since the 90's, the image of migrant workers is typed and analyzed, and the common existence of their "suffering" is excavated. Here, the image of migrant workers are divided into four types: the "Loach" at the lowest estate, the successful fighter, the loser walking to the destruction and the lost"Eva". Chapter II: The second part expatiates how the directors construct the images of the suffering of migrant workers. Directors carry out the construction of the suffering theme from the plight of material and spiritual of migrant workers when they get into a big city. The ultimate goal of migrant workers is attributed to nothing in the duple extremity. as a visual art, which has its own unique way of expression. Because the film and television is a special art of seeing and hearing. It has a special language, that is, through the lens, sound, color used to show the suffering of its mirror image under. Chapter III: The third part expounds the reason that the large numbers of suffering images of migrant workers appear: the first one is the special time; the second one is the humanitarian concern of the director for the bottom migrant workers. Chapter IV: The reality existence of the suffering images of migrant workers in the present situation and the aesthetic effect of suffering are further explored the depth and meaning behind the reason. Finally, the conclusion summarizes the defect of pursuing the suffering image of migrant workers painstakingly and the new trend of the films and televisions about migrant workers.
