The Phonological Study Of Qizi Town Dialect In Xiangxiang City

Xiangxiang city is located in the middle of Hunan province. Its dialect, categorized into Loushao language of Xiang dialect, is one of the important statuses of the ancient Xiang dialects. The dialects in this city varied from one place to another. However, the research of Xiangxiang dialects is only narrowed to Chengguan town dialect, which prevents us from getting a full picture of it. Considering that and on the basis of investigating in the locality, we mainly describe the phonetic system of Qizi town—the economic, cutural and traffic centre of Xiangxiang. In the thesis, we mainly describe the phonetic system of Qizi town dialect, provide some languge imformation in detail, and analyse the inner differences of Qizi town dialect, then compare it to Chengguan dialect, finally we list our opinions on the formation of Qizi town dialect.The full thesis falls into 6 parts altogether.The introduction shows us the geography, the history, the population, the condition of language uses of Qizi town dialect briefly. It aslo introduces the present studies on the Qizi town dialect, the emphasis and main purpose of our research.The first chapter describes the system of innitial consonant, compound, vowel and tone, and the features of phonetic system of Qizi town dialect.The secend chapter describes and analyses the literary reading and colloquial reading. The third chapter is the syllabary of Qizi town dialect.The fourth chapter analyses the inner differences of Qizi town dialect, and compare the Qizi town dialect to Chengguan town dialect.The rest of essay combines some elements such as cuture, history and geography to analyse the formation of Qizi town dialect.
