The Acdemic Research On The Art Of Tujia Brocade Design In The Western Part Of Hunan

Tujia brocade, or Xilankapu(Tujia dialect), is a kind of traditional textile handicrafts maintained completely by Tujia nationality. Tujia brocade design is a special natural aesthetic cultural idea to expresses nature and develop accumulation with this special pattern of brocade in the process of personification. This article analizes the pattern language and aesthetic feature of the Tujia brocade design and plain pursuit of aesthetics in unique national culture and siprit of humanity through the inverstigation and reseach on the Tujia brocade in the western district of Hunan. To a nationality with only oral language and no written language, it is the brocade design that make the Tujia brocade develop a special link and deep meaning with the culture through those lines and signs. All these provide a significance for the reseach. The beauty of Tujia brocade shows their love for the natural things and love for the life, which expresses their breadth of the mind and boundless cohesion. Thus the reseach of the Tujia brocade design is to undermine its meaning of the nature on the base of the development of history and cultural psycology with the nationality.The article did some related reseach on the Tujia brocade design mainly from 4 aspects on the bases of art research. At first we carried on investigation in the area of Longshan and Yongshun to get the knowlegde of the origin and its development of the Tujia brocade in the area ,and then do the reseach on the ethnic culture and its unique style of the manufacture work. Secondly we analize the Tujia brocade design in details, and make comments on the subject matter, the feature of its pattern and symbols,. Thirdly, we give summary on the sepcial feature of aesthetics and its culture.At last the article provides some ideas and thinking on the inheritage and usage of Tujia brocade design to the modern art designs and puts forth the related discussion on it. Thus we hope through the research of the Tujia brocade design we can absorbe some art elements of the ethnic feature and provide more subject matter and inspiration for the modern art designs, at same time it helps us understand the deepth of the traditional culture and tries to do some research work on the initiate design.
