Narrative psychotherapy evolved from social and cultural changes, redirection of contemporary philosophy and Psychology-related science subjects, it was finally formed and developed in familial therapy. Narrative psychotherapy was based on social constructivism, and it improved flawed traditional Psychology with the techniques such as problem externalizing, special result searching, and life story reconstruction. The main features of narrative psychotherapy include: the issue of treatment of problem externalizing, relations oriented treatment position, difference-oriented therapy mode, attaching importance to spiritual inner strength of the visitors. Narrative psychotherapy is in conjunction with Chinese culture in many aspects. The problem externalizing therapy approach is acceptable for Chinese due to the resemble dialectic thinking, and it is capable to take Chinese face psychology into consideration. There is a resemblance between difference-oriented therapy and traditional Chinese medicine which is individual-oriented therapy. The focus on spiritual inner strength is highlighted by good self-discipline and reflection of Chinese.The case study shows that narrative psychotherapy is validated with successful treatments and good results among Chinese visitors. In the therapeutic practice, some problems were experienced, such as how to help visitors establish confidence and acceptance, which is a precondition for the following treatment. If one special result is not enough for the analysis, it is feasible to evoke visitors for more special results, which is useful to enrich a story in number. It is possibly difficult for Chinese visitors to challenge mainstream narrating, but it is feasible to create a balance point between visitor's own thinking and mainstream values. It is capable to satisfy the personal needs of visitors and avoid the interaction between visitors and nearby environment, and to meet the demand of improving the satisfaction and acceptance of visitors' own life.To improve narrative psychotherapy, it is necessary and correct to persist in combining theory and practice, and to conjoin western techniques and Chinese culture in the research.
