Remark On The Characteristic And Promotive Factors Of Poetry In The Period Of Wu Zetian

The period of Wu Zetian has been regarded as the important interim when the earlier Tang Dynasty literature went into that of glorious age of Tang Dynasty. Wu Zetian, took many measures to drum up literati to cultivate her own political force. The literati, to different extent, all changed in their personality and spirit, mood and style and so on in the changeable political environment, and it presented a literati spirit of attaching importance to the talent and going in for progress. Wu Zetian adopted the way of selecting the literati according to their essay, so the progressive literati, from both middle lower class and the upper class, are all influenced by the social environment and Wu Zetian's attitude towards literature. Their poesy creations gradually manifested the high spirit and Fenggu. Meanwhile, the poesy also developed in the way of rhythmify and appeared the characteristic of the tentative fusion of rhythm and Fenggu. It paved the way for the transition of early Tang Dynasty poetry to glorious Tang Dynasty poetry.This paper includes the introduction and text.In the introduction, it mainly introduces the current situation of the research in literati spirit and poesy of Wu Zetian Period and the content of this paper.The first chapter introduces the general situation of the Parnassus in the transition period. The moral quality, poesy, and the compilation of encyclopedia of the representatives of that time, such as Xu Jingzong, Shangguan Yi, paved the way for the change of the literati spirit and the development of poem rhythm..The second chapter introduces the political environment of progressive literati spirit and essentially analyzes the literati spirit of making progress according to pursuing the literary talent. The change of the literati spirit that the literati should be good at writing articles,was closely connected with unveiling of poetry Fenggu and the development of rhythm.The third chapter introduces that, under the influence of progressive literati spirit, literati of the middle and lower class represented the lift spirit, the sentiment of making contribution and the conceited and contemptuous characteristic. In this way, the Fenggu of poesy was gradually revealed.The forth chapter introduce the influence of Wu Zetian on the Parnassus and the fusion of rhythm and Fenggu.
