Firstly, this thesis has studied the character of the middle rank external Chinese teaching carefully; secondly, it has seeked the middle class's outstanding vocabulary teaching problems through a lot of investigation; lastly, it has raised a series of principles and strategies of the middle rank external Chinese vocabulary teaching upon researching on the theory in the structuralism linguistics that language is a system of value.Four main problems discussed and solved in the thesis:1,Analyze the character of knowledge structure and vocabulary demand of the middle rank external Chinese, so as to master the individuality of the middle rank external Chinese vocabulary teaching.2,Do research on the mistakes of using vocabularies in the compositions of the senior class and the problems discovered in the vocabulary test papers in the middle class so as to find the middle class's outstanding vocabulary studying problems and explain the possible lack of the present vocabulary teaching.3,Do research on the theory in the structuralism linguistics that language is a system of value. Research into the systematic relationship as well as the relationship between the sentences and paragraphs. Try to master the commonness of the vocabulary studying in the two languages.4,On the basis of theory and practice and by using the language acquisition theories of the cognitive psychology and the patterns of memory strengthening, try to bring forward the principles and strategies of the middle rank external Chinese vocabulary teaching.Three teaching principles and seven teaching strategies has been raised in the thesis,which are put forward according to the characters of Chinese and the frame of the syntagmatic relation relation and the associative relation .Some principles and strategies have been put forward by others before, for example, the vocabulary teaching principle on the basis of the syntagmatic relation relation and the associative relation, the strategy of acquiring vocabularies in the context. Unfortunately, these discussions aren't ample and systematic, which affects their usage in the teaching practice. Integrating my teaching practice and referring to the researches before, I try to put forward a set of systematic and pertinent principles and strategies of the middle rank external Chinese vocabulary teaching.
