The Living Situation And The Future Development Of The Chinese American Families Nowadays

This thesis is to study the living situation and the future development of the Chinese American families nowadays. With the data and materials available, it dissects several aspects of the life of the Chinese American families nowadays, such as the internal relationships, the socioeconomic status, and the political participation of these families as well as the racial discrimination against Chinese Americans. The main influences on the Chinese American families nowadays in the United States are also discussed in this thesis to give a better perspective of their American life.It is found through the study of these families that despite the cultural conflict and various kinds of discrimination, the living situation of the Chinese American families nowadays was improved a lot. These families have obtained a relatively high socioeconomic status and gradually become more interested in participating in political activities. The future development of the Chinese American families nowadays is determined by a combination of factors, such as socioeconomic, cultural, and institutional ones, the assimilation levels of Chinese Americans, and also factors on the part of China, the ancestral country of Chinese Americans.
