E.M.Forster is one of the most important writers in the history of British literature in 20th century, with far-reaching cultural significance of the topics and themes, unique and personalities shaping way of the image of the performance and exquisite ingenious way his novels have,he left a glorious footsteps in literature history. Due to his own growth experience and the impact of the society , E..M.Forster's noveles obviously have the nature of marginality . Studying the marginal characters in E.M.Forster's noveles not only have practical significance, and also have cultural significance. This paper attempts to use history - humanism analysis method, combining history, sociology and psychology, and others related knowledge, use Einstein's theory of Relativity and the philosophy about marginal relative to centre as the basic viewpoints to have a comprehensivly analysis about the characters on the edge in his novles.At the beginning , the article mainly defined some ralated concepts and analysis the causes of the marginal characters in E.M.Forster's novles. The main part of the second chapter combinded Forster's six novels to analysis the marginal characters how to performance in his literary texts,ralated to Location, ownership of class, gender and sexual orientation, culture and cross-cultural communication, and several other specific aspects of exposition. The final chapter, analysis the practical and cultural significance about the marginal character in the E.M.Forster's novels.The marginal character have a inevitable development due to the times ahead. From a social sense, Forster's characters who have marginality Reflects the author's sharp concern on the trend of social development. Marginal phenomenon as an international phenomenon, also reflects the relative about the center and the marginal status and the trend of human existence of "differences coexistence". From a cultural sense, the marginal characters reflected Forster's deep humanistic concern,also reflected his "common ground while reserving differences" and "connection" of culture. The marginal character also hinted that the mankind have done tireless efforts in order to pursuit of spiritual civilization, they are the vanguard of the army in a cross-cultural communication but also worked as bridges in cross-cultural communication.The great importance attached to the marginal characters in Forster' s novels reflected the attention that the perspective about the resolution in the absolute center and absolute edge ,it is also indicates that with the development of culture, diversity will be an inevitable trend.
