In Feb. 2007, the author has hosted a China Zheng(zithers) Solo Concert in Soul, at which she performed the new work by the Korean composer seok yeon Cho For Ten Days. The work is the first Zheng solo composed by a Korean artist in the history of Chinese Zheng music. For Ten days is distinctive among the contemporary Zheng art for its unique style and profound creativeness. The creation of the work and its debut in Korea is a useful attempt in enriching the contemporary Zheng art, exploring new performance techniques and strengthening the China-Korea ties in Zheng art. The cooperation between the author and the composer also produced significant impact in Korea and marks a new stage in the exchange and cooperation between China and Korea in Zheng Art. As the premier performer of the work, the author has carefully studied the composition though score-reading and performance, and has acquired some noteworthy conclusions and inspirations. The author hereby attempts to analyze the work from both the artistic and technical perspectives, as well as discuss the difficulties in its performance and offer the corresponding solutions. Through the analysis of the work and introducing it to a greater public, this article also aims at enhancing the cultural exchanges between China and Korea in Zheng art.
