The translation of the Buddhist Scripture and the Bible are the main stream of translation with long history and profound influence. Through the comparison of the two translated masterpiece , it is found that the two works all undergo the conflict and development concerning translation strategy and method from literal translation , free translation to the combination of the translation methods.Meanwhile the theories and the techniques of translation have the similar experiences, in the similarity developmental proceed inflects the difficulty and various contradiction of translation , discloses the essential problem and basic principle of translation which is closely connected with language and culture, but over the systemic difference of the variety of language and culture. During the history, the translation history is as old as language itself. As long as the developing of translation , its theory runs on its own time and forms the Chinese and western unique theories of translation. Though their traditions from different language culture, different translation stuff, different thoughts background, there are many similarities. In fact , the similarities are more than the differences. Our Chinese activity of translation in large scale began from the translation of the Buddhist Scripture; while Western was from the translation Septuagint of Bible. In the process of the religious Versions' translating, there's much research on the principles and techniques of translation. As differences between the translation of the Buddhist Scripture and the Bible lies in content, in time, in culture and society setting, the methods of translation deals in the translating of religious versions concerning great similarities.So far, in the tide of Chinese and west learning from each other, this thesis is in six parts, concluding the similarities ,that is, the points of resemble between Chinese and western translation techniques by means of comparing the translation of the Buddhist Scripture and the Bible, which aims to carrying forward the fine trends and draw the directions of the techniques on Chinese and western translation so as it can become a relative systematic strategy of translation.
