YaoQin is in the period that Buddhist Scripture Translation has developed maturitally. It has been three centuries since the translation of Buddhist scriptures in Chinese appeared and after this time the peak period of the Buddhist Scripture Translation—North and South Dynasties is coming. In this intermediate period, Chinese phonetics, vocabulary and grammar are going through great changes and tendency verb is in the process of formation. Therefore, we selected Kumarajiva's 8 Buddhist scriptures which are representative and scanned,analysised and investigated the materials tending to be find out the all tendency verbs and their examples. Then we described the use of the tendency verbs in two dimetions:one is the distributions of the verbs in the sentences,the other is the semantics of the verbs in detail.Our research can be divided into seven chapters:chapter one, we introduced Kumarajiva's life and his books,the definition and classification of the tendency verb; chapter two we described and analysised the tendency verb "Lai" in the dimentions of the distributions of the verbs in the sentences of Kumarajiva's 8 Buddhist scriptures; chapter three we described and analysised the tendency verb "Qu" in the dimentions of the distributions of the verbs in the sentences; chapter four we described other nine tendency verbs "Gui,hui,dao,jin,chu,ru,shang,xia,qi,guo"; chapter five we made the semantics analysis of the eleven tendency verbs in Kumarajiva's 8 Buddhist scriptures;chapter six we we tries to explain the historical development of the tendency Verbs "Lai" and "Qu";chapter seven we made twu conclusions that during the Wei Jin and Yao Qin Dynasties, the single tendency verbs have formed and the compound t tendency verbs are in the process of formation. But generally speaking, the development of these verbs are uneven. "Come" and "Go" has the most full development.
