The Study Of Composition On Wang Cheng Quan's Erhu Concerto

Wang Chengquan, a composer, who strives for continual improvement, keeps forging ahead and creates firmly, and he is one representative of the most outstanding composers. He devotes all his life to the creation and exploration of local music style in Henan and makes every effort to introduce the music works with the strong local style to the whole world. Mr. Wang just did as he said. His several works have been put on the stage in Singapore and other countries, and also had the satisfying achievements. In order to realize his broad dream, Mr. Wang is still engaging in composition all the time.Mr. Wang is good at mixing the western composing techniques and the local thinking, dialect and music style of Henan together, thus forming his own unique musical language and creative characters. His eight symphonies, the conclusion of his works after his cultivation, exploration and accumulation, which not only stand for his artic achievements but also are the important fruits during the process on exploring the symphony with he local customs of Henan in recent 50 years.This article just makes a study on his typical work, Erhu concerto --"Hua Mulan", throughout the analysis of its musical form, creative technique, harmony, subject, etcetera, as well as the methods of research on national music and music aesthetics, to learn how the composer mixes the national traditional heritage and the predecessors'creative technique together with the excellent experience.I think that this study will be helpful for our composition and teaching in the future, also has a positive effect on the heritage and development of the local musical cultures of Henan.
