The Song with ancient poem is the essence of Chinese vocal music. Its sing and performance, is not only with the help of the western vocal music theory, but the traditional Chinese vocal musical theory .This paper focuses on exploration of the application of the demand for skills of ancient vocal music and aesthetic criteria in singing the songs of ancient poems on basis of the exquisite illustration of Chinese vocal music works, as well as the author's own practice. It aims to get the exact rules of the sing of the ancient poems through the analysis of the specific examples.This paper includes three parts: the first part analyzes the basic features of the ancient poems and gives a brief introduction to the classification, creative features, artistic features and the essential demands for singing skills and emotional expression. The second part illustrates how to sing, including the relevant skills, such as the breath, articulation and lubricating tunes, especially the important effect of lubricating tunes on illustrating the lasting appeal of the ancient poems. The third part shows the mood rendering and emotional expression. It comes to a conclusion that the sing of the ancient poems should follow the aesthetic principles.
