The Confucian Thought View And The Genius And Personality View About Chen Shou Evaluating Historical Persons

Three kingdoms is the representative work of Chen Shou. In this work, he integrated the thought about governing the country with character biographies, as well as evaluation about those figures. Scholars always pay attention to the methods and standards by which Chen Shou evaluated historical persons. But they didnot conduct in-depth research on the reasons about his thought form. This article will give an in-depth analysis to the angles of Chen Shou evaluating historical persons, including"the confucian thought view"and"the genius and personality view", after researching Three kingdoms's compiling style. And it also analyze the reason why he used the two perspectives.In this article, I find many historical data from Three kingdoms, and will give a analysis on Chen Shou about evaluating historical persons. The full text is divided into five parts. The first part introduct the station about Chen Shou evaluating historical persons in resent years. The second part analyze the character biography's compiling style about Three kingdoms. Chen Shou get together the characters, and alternated some important imperical edict, memoriais. All of that has concentrated author's govering thoughts. The third part seperately analysis"the confucian thought view"and"the genius and personality view". The first view includes: maintenance the relation of king and ministers; take the ritual and yue's value; to esteem the virtuous and enlightenment rule. The second view includes: the thought of taking the people as the country's basic; the same about genius and nature view; displaying his personality and so on. This part give a depth analysis on the study of Chen Shou's evaluating historical persons thoughts. The fourth part discussed the Chen Shou's evaluating historical persons with multi-angles, because he was influenced by genius and personality theory and traditional Confucianism beliefs. The fifth part has carried on a summery to the full text.I will try my best to combine research analysis with the history of learing from macroscopic-angle, and carried depth research on Wei Jin history under metaphysics. I provide much new historical information , it will help readers get new understandings about the period of Wei Jin history development.
