The paper makes a research on the employment of white women in the US during the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries ,analyzing the employment state which has been limited and treated with bias during the period when the country turned from agricultural society into industrial one. And it focus on the factors affecting white women employment as well as the rapidly increasing employment influencing the American society.The foreword mainly introduces The research on the white women employment in the historical fields at home and abroad. Based on the materials, the research direction and the problems that should be settled are set up ,along with the illustration of the research means and theories.The main body includes three parts:Part one gives a brief description of the women employment in the colonial times ,the Civil War ,and the gilded Age, and then propes into the white women employment status quo during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.Part two discusses the positive and negative factors from Industrialization. For example, a large number of jobs came into being as the result of new technology with the rapid development of the industrialization .Feminism movements aroused here and there, but, at the same time ,all kinds of noises opposing women employment were heard everywhere and women received low paid wages ,although worked too many hours.Part three probes into the huge impact on the women themselves, their families , politics, economy and social mood of America from the white women employment .The conclusion sums up the white women employment, pointing out the limitation of the white women employment and the women making great contribution like men in U.S. as well.
