What is the nature of the Chinese philosophy? In the overseas neo-Confucianism's view, it is the study of the morality and the mentality. Therefore, the Chinese philosophy can also be referred to as the moral philosophy or the mental philosophy. Although this judgment on the Chinese philosophy explains its characteristics, the biggest problem is that the explanation is not based on the nature of Chinese philosophy itself, which shows the one-sided part of the Chinese philosophy.Researching Chinese philosophy, we can learn that the schools of the Chinese philosophy are all thinking about the harmony in the world, In other words, the fundamental value of Chinese philosophy is how to make everything in accord. In a sense, the Chinese philosophy is the subject in quest to the harmonious state of all things in the universe. Being aware of the point, we can really understand the significance of Chinese philosophy which not just belongs to the moral philosophy and open our research eyes.In the perspective of traditional Chinese culture, the history and the philosophy are both researching the harmony; however, their methods are quite different. Through some history works, we can learn some ideas of the philosophy, not restricted the distinction of history and philosophy in western science. Zi Zhi Tong Jian is the Chinese history masterpiece which indicates the ideology of the philosophy, so it can be the bridge connecting the Chinese political philosophy and the history philosophy.The purpose of the thesis is to study the nature of the philosophy, expend our horizon of researching the philosophy and recognize the Chinese philosophy in the new perspective.
