Agricultural Science And Technology Of Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region During The Anti-Japanese War

The development of agricultural science and technology in Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region was extremely low before war, owing to the profound and complicated historical reasons . But the outbreak of the Sino-Japanese War brought opportunities to the development of agricultural science and technology in border areas.In order to solve the food and clothing problems in wartime, the CPC and the Border Region Government vigorously promoted agricultural science and technology, and formulated a series of principles and policies, including the provisions of macroeconomic policies and the implementation of specific programmes. They not only established agricultural research institutes to strengthen the scientific and technological research, also promoted scientific and technological dissemination taking diversifying the ways. The border of agricultural science and technology has made remarkable achievements, such as improvement of methods in the farming, the introduction of fine varieties and promotion, the prevention of plant diseases and insect pests, the development of water system,etc. The development of agricultural productivity was greatly promoted.The development of agricultural science and technology in Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region during the Sino-Japanese War had far-reaching impact. First, promoted the change of border social: promoted the economic development of border villages during the Anti-Japanese War; improved rural people's living standards; changed the border village society ethos. Second, trained personnel and accumulated rich experience for the development of New China's agricultural science and technology, and initiated a new precedent for New China's agricultural science and technology. These provided us with a wealth of lessons and profound historical enlightenment to the development of a modern agricultural science and technology today.
