Fu is a unique style of the verse in ancient Chinese literature. Music Fu is a combination of music and Fu, it takes music as the main target. Music Fu in Pre-Tang Dynasty, as the term suggests, is the first collection of all the written music poems. People have been studying the Music Fu in Pre-Tang Dynasty since the Han dynasty. The period of Pre-Tang Dynasty is the spontaneous phase. From Tang Dynasty to modern times, it's the collation and simulation period. It reaches its peak period since 1980s.Since China's ancient poetry, song, dancing is a three in one, therefore, Music Fu is actually conferred music including dancing. There're different standards on classification, different results result from different standards. By the different genres, Music Fu can be divided into Vocal Fu, instrumental Music Fu, Dancing Fu and other types. Instrumental Music Fu can be further divided into String category and Percussion category. If classified according to historical stage, Music Fu can be divided into the Han Fu, Wei and Jin Dynasties Music Fu, and the Southern and Northern Dynasties Music Fu. As for the origin of the Music Fu, it can be ascribed to "Book of Songs" and "Songs of the South", nearly can sum up Mei Sheng's "seven round."The development of Music Fu in Pre-Tang Dynasty has undergone the phases of the Han Dynasty, Wei and Jin Dynasty, and Southern and Northern Dynasties. Thanks to the ruling class's advocation and literal's efforts and the rapid development of musical instrument. Music Fu in Han Dynasty has reached its period of steady development. Many works are produced during this period, such as Wang Bao's "Hole Flute Fu," Ma Rong's "Long Flute Fu" and Fu Yi's "Dance Fu" are successful in the description on music and literature. They've laid a solid foundation for r the future generations'works of Music Fu. During the Wei and Jin Dynasties, Fu writers not only absorbed the essence of the production of the Han Dynasty but also boldly innovated, they made Music Fu move toward prosperity. Many Music Fu writers emerged, such as Ji Kang, Cheng Gongsui, Fu Xuan and so on. They produced many works of Fu and the kinds of Music Fu reached its peak. The number of the Music Fu in Wei and Jin Dynasties is the largest in the Pre-Tang Dynasty. As there's no works existing in the word in the Northern Dynasty, the Music Fu is also called the Southern Fu in the Southern and the impact of the style of writing, the chance has occurred in the perspective of writing, it shows a new tendency. The representative works are Jian Wen Emperor's "Zheng Fu," "Dance Fu" and the "Golden Chun Fu".Music Fu in Pre-Tang Dynasty has its own characteristics. It has both imitation and innovation. It has various description techniques and the presentation, analogy, Exaggeration and allusions are prominent in the process of description. Music Fu in Pre-Tang Dynasty in aesthetic aspect takes "harmony" ,"clearness", "sorrow" ,"natural" as beautiful.Music Fu in Pre-Tang Dynasty shoulders two main functions, enlightening and entertainment, these two functions at different times have different emphases. In the Han Dynasty, enlightening is the main function,but after the Wei and Jin Dynasties, entertainment is the main function. As a kind of special Fu, Music Fu in Pre-Tang Dynasty has historical value of literature, music, aesthetic value and the literature aesthetic value.
