Directional verb is a small close subclass in modern Chinese,"lai"and"qu"is the two important members in the subclass, they can be the predicate and the complement, and they can express the meaning of direction and other empty extension meanings. On the foundation of the investigation of corpus no less than one million words, we found that the using of"lai"and"qu"exists symmetry and asymmetry phenomenon. Generally speaking,"lai"expresses the direction to center place, and"qu"expresses the direction away from center place, the two direction meaning exists opposite relationships. Although the direction meaning is opposite, the using of"lai"and"qu"exists both symmetry and asymmetry phenomenon, and they have their own factor. Based on these questions, we will argue the symmetry and asymmetry phenomenon of using of"lai"and"qu"based on the direction meanings, at the same time, we will analysis the usual biased errors of Vietnam students who study Chinese. Both describe and the analyses are the methods we used in this paper. And there are five parts in this paper:Chapter One: Introduction. It pointes out the reasons and the meaning of this paper., and make clear the object and range ,have a summary of achievement and lacking of interrelated researches, and then raise the train of thought ,methods and source of corpus. Chapter Two: The symmetry phenomenon of"lai"and"qu". Firstly, this part explains the space point theory and the asymmetry theory, and then it gives the manifestation of symmetry manifest -ation of"lai"and"qu".Chapter Three: The asymmetry phenomenon of"lai"and"qu". This part gives the asymmetry manifestation of"lai"and"qu".Chapter Four: The restrictive factors of the symmetry and asymmetry phenomenon of"lai"and"qu". To sum up, when"lai"and"qu"is the predicate, the type of writing and the additional meaning are the restrictive factors; when"lai"and"qu"is the complement, center verb and other words with direction trend is the restrictive factors.Chapter Five: Relevant issues in teaching. Vietnam students who learn Chinese are usually make some biased errors of the choose of"lai"or"qu". The key to resolve this problem is to make clear the relationship of center place and center discourse, and the restrictive factors.Chapter Six: This part summarizes the analysis results of this paper.
