From 'what Is The Literature' To 'what Is The Literariness'

For the nature of literature or (literariness), different ages make different interpretation. The question of what is literature is never out of human being's thinking field although it is difficult to reach a consensus. We will find that literary is so close to our life when we pay attention on the nature of literature from the origin perspective. The demand of humankind causes the birth of literature. The existent of literature validates the existent of human and shows its infinite complexity and diversity. People ponder upon literariness connects with their questions on themselves. Looking for a perfect absolute and ultimate result is not the meaning of the nature of literature. We should realize and validate what we has experienced, flushed our soul, explored the unknown in life through the process of frequent reflection.In the meantime, consideration on what is literature must be cast back to the exploring of literariness. But sometimes we always involve in essentialism unintentionally. The essentialism tries to get rid of history factor, obstruct the idolum bringing by others. It concludes firmly and mechanically the existence of literariness is steady. The nature we say above doesn't contain the single object but the conjunct object. As a result it can sum up an invariable formula which can generalize all phenomenon of literature. The essence refers to the inner conventional factor one object differ from the others. It exists in the object and plays an important function on the occurrence and development of the object. The essence of the object is formed, changed and developed gradually in the long history experience. It also gains the space of advancement and interpretation. The nature of literature can be examined from the dimension of mimesis and expressionism. It also could be examined from aesthetic dimension. In the same way, it can be interpreted by the concept of literariness in the language and rhetorical skill. All of these construct a complete and systemic theory prospect of literariness. In the postmodernism context, the crucial critic on essentialism is active, the traditional metaphysical system is dismantled, the imagination that attempts to unify the object through control a certain essence which is unchanged, isolated and absolute is demolished. From what is literary to what is literariness indicates the change of question pattern on literary contemplation. Of course, literariness is not an invariable concept. Different theory form and the special category of meaning could be derived from different history context. Literary text is isolated when Russian formalism, New Criticism and Structuralism are released from the outside stipulator. The result is that it advances our cognition on literature in unilateral profundity situation, although they make effort to clear up the boundary between literary and nonliterary, to maintain the special characteristic of literary, and to give literary text a independent exist space. The deconstructionists'attention on literariness is not only the analysis of language style and structure rule in literary works, but also the exploration and investigation of literariness in nonliterary works, such as philosophy, history, political narrative, description, mythos, imagination and rhetorical. Because of these, Russian formalism, New Criticism, Structuralism and Deconstructionism do not explore the essence of literary entirely. At present, clarification of literariness becomes a key problem to resolve urgently when the speech on end of literary, end of theory and marginalizing appears frequently, and the speech field is pervaded by literariness becomes a signifier. This thesis tries to make a general analysis on origin, change and semantic slippage of literariness through exploring human being's thinking way on approach of the essence of literary. Basing on the analysis above, stipulates the connotation and development of literariness. As well, its existent modality and validity are discussed under the certain history culture of China.
