The History Of Language Training In Southeast Asia Since The Ming Dynasty

Chinese training in the skill of translating Southeast Asian languages can be traced back to the earliest years of the Ming Dynasty. At that time the agency named Siyi Guan specialized in translating the languages of the Chinese ethnic minorities and the neighbouring countries. Since then the skill of translating Southeast Asian languages has undergone many changes, and is now flourishing. Some changes are gradually being made in both the system content and teaching methods. Research into the skill of translating Southeast Asian languages in the origin and development process of china, can not only help China's contemporary Southeast Asian Language Training but also helps us to sum up historical experience and the promotion of contemporary training in the skill of translating Southeast Asian languages.The introduction begins with an overview of past research and talks about the theories, methods and significance of this paper. Since the Ming Dynasty set up Siyi Guan, Papers analysises the inevitability of its establishment. Chinese training in the translation of Southeast Asian languages will be separated into three historical stages: the Ming Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty, and the period since the foundation of the Republic of China. It will discuss the quality of teachers, teaching materials, languages, teaching management and founders in various stages of history and its special role in the social process at that time. Then make a summary of historical characteristics in training the skill of translating Southeast Asian languages.
