Trial Research On Test Of Nonverbal Intelligence-Third Edition (TONI-3)

The main task of this study was to study and revise the Test of Nonverbal Intelligence-Third Edition A and B (TONI-3), which had revised by the ex-President of the Education College of Taiwan Normal University, Professor Wu WuDian. TONI-3 is a nonverbal intelligence check scale suitable for children in personal test or group test, and with less demands it can examine children's intelligence simply and conveniently in short time.The first part analyzed the current demand of the intelligence check scale with fairness and convenient, and analyzing the advantages of TONI-3. On the basis of these the researcher proposed the study structure, and then made a brief overview about mental measurement and psychological test.In Part Two, TONI-3 (A, B) were carried extensive trial and modification. According to reliability, validity and item analysis (difficulty and discrimination) in CTT, and combined the feedback information during the testing course from the testers and subjects, the researcher put forward some suggestions for revision. And then, the second test were carried out.Part three was about the psychology measurement analysis of the test. This part obtained some valuable information according to the different methods under the theory frame of CTT (reliability, validity and item analysis) and IRT (3-parameter Normal-ogive model), and then tried to carry on some contrasts in CTT and IRT about reliability, validity and item analysis.Finally, the researcher had determined the frame and basic content of the test. Data analysis in CTT showed the scale was a good intelligence check test with good reliability and validity. The IRT result also confirmed this scale was suitable for intelligence check.The aim of the study was to make some prospective research for offering information for the norm revision and extensive use in the future; on the other hand, to conduct these data with different mental measurements analysis modes and make a contrast between them which offered some enlightenment in this area.
