Correlation Study On The Character Design And Chinese Calligraphy

The calligraphy is Chinese writing art the treasure, is one kind of national spirit symbol. The calligraphy is takes the written object by the Chinese character art. The Chinese character is the calligraphy creation foundation. Character design is an overall concept, it has contains the rich content and the ever changing design manifestation. Character design is refers to the people to carry on the artistic design to the character the activity and the process.The calligraphy and Character design has the same bass-Letter or Chinese Character. If the Chinese character culture like a deep-rooted and flourishing big tree, he calligraphy and Chinese typeface design then is the fruit which grows comes out this tree. Although two development directions, the manifestation, the esthetic interest is different, the achievement has the together design main body two kind of research object, has the extremely close mutual relation, the calligraphy esthetic form has had the significant influence to Character design. The calligraphy development can impel Character design advancement.This article first reviewed the status about calligraphy and Character design, and from the cultural, aesthetic, psychological theoretical perspective, in-depth study of the relationship between calligraphy and Character design. At last, the author analysis some cases in practice, and make some superficial personal recommendations on the development of calligraphy and character design in future.
