The Calligraphy Influence On The Tradition And Modern Character Design

Chinese characters are the bridge establishing the artistic relevance in aesthetics between traditional calligraphy art and font design,and promote the fusion and symbiosis of the two.Through both theoretical and exemplary illustrations of the aesthetics in traditional calligraphy,this paper intends to explore its impact on font designs both old and new from the perspective of their aesthetic consciousness of "seeking commonness" between the two.The influence of calligraphy art on traditional text designs like Birdworm Text,Wadang Text,Feibai Writing,Huajia Printing,Engraved wood carving,etc.,and on the font designs in modern brand image,commodity package and posters,will also be presented.Traditional writing styles and skills,backed by their calligraphy aesthetics,are a profound source of inspiration necessary to modern font design for the benefit of its further development.Only in this way can we create more works of art with national characteristics while meeting the basic requirement of delivering font design language.
