With the wide spread of Internet and the development of multimedia technology, online advertisements have been gaining an inexorable march of progress. More and more companies spend large amounts of money on the Internet advertising for publicity, which can be seen from the fact that Internet advertisements are getting more mature with various kinds of forms. Interactive animation, a new audio-visual design technology coming into being as the result of the emergence of computer application technologies and wide use of the Internet, employs the multimedia technology in the computer to conform pictures, sounds, animations, videos and other elements into one new form of advertisement which can be more expressive, direct and efficient in delivering the information about the products. The most conspicuous characteristic of interactive online advertisements is that the display form and process can be changed according to the visitor's will. This type of advertising has been applied widely and being developed rapidly as people begin to pay more attention to them.This paper will focus on the design and application of interactive animation of online advertisements. From the perspective of narrative mode of the interactive animation, participation of the viewers, information delivering media, purpose of application, designation and production and aesthetics, it tends to discuss the differences between traditional animation and interactive animation, analyze the function of interactive animation application in online advertisements, and sum up the features, expressive ways and basic types of interactive animation of online advertisements. Moreover, this paper further discusses and analyzes the artistic forms and features of interactive animation of online advertisements, and puts forward the design principle that interactive animation of online advertisements should conform to. With the design realization of interactive animation's design and application on a personal website of baking, this paper, based on the analysis of the realistic application problems of the interactive animation on the personal website, raises the concept and design scheme that by adding interactive animation to the advertisement of baking tools, the seller can help the buyer experience the function of the tools and the process of baking virtually online. After that, the paper discusses the design realization and the function and significance of it. Finally, this paper deals with the problems confronted by the interactive animation design of online advertisements and looks forward to the bright future of it.
