In 1990s the political, economic and social vicissitudes in Taiwan had provided the nourishing soil for the growth and prosperity of the queer literature in Taiwan, and thanks to the establishment and development of the lesbian communities and spaces, the incentive of literary prizes and the introduction of queer theories, the lesbian novels in Taiwan had achieved unprecedented success.Through the analysis of the lesbian novels in Taiwan in 1990s, we can discover not only their persistent pursuit of the "homogeneous group", and their poignancy, desperation and fatigue they had undergone in the struggle against the "heterogeneous group", but also their invincible striving on the verge of the society and their playful defiance of all kinds of hegemonies. Hence, the lesbian subject in Taiwan in 1990s had trodden such a path that gradually advanced from "heterosexual otherness" to "special ego".
