The Mass Movement And Economic Construction

The revolution and the construction are two opposing things and have respective characteristics and laws. When the revolutionary experience is used in peacetime construction, a problem of applicability will emerge. Therefore, the two things cannot be confused. The Communist Party of China launched Large-scale production campaign and the Great Leap Forward movement during the period of revolution and construction separately. The mass movement is their common means. However the mass movement actually brings two big movements entirely different rsults, which deserves careful reflection. From the point of view of the mass movement, with Large-scale production campaign and the Great Leap Forward movement as the center, this thesis explores relations between the mass movement and the economic construction in order to sum up historical experience and draw the necessary lessons and provide these useful experience and lessons for today's economic construction. Many scholars thought that the Large-scale production campaign was"the economic development". In The comparative study of the Great Leap Forward and Large-scale production campaign, Wang Yugui pointed out that :"before the Great Leap Forward movement, Chinese Communist Party has not much successful experience in carrying out economic construction on a large scale. Besides the first five-year plan, the big production campaign is the only successful economic development movement."Since both the big production campaign and the Great Leap Forward movement are"the economic development", why has the mass movement brought the success for the big production campaign, and on the contrary, led to the failure of the Great Leap Forward movement? Firstly, it involves a careful analysis of the nature of Large-scale production campaign. Essentially speaking, the Large-scale production campaign is a revolution. Thus, the laws of the mass movement are in accordance with those of revolutionary war. Therefore, the mass movement can bring the big production campaign good effect. That has been proved effective in historical practice. Secondly, in nature, the Great Leap Forward movement is the economic development. The laws of the mass movement are incompatible with those of the economic development. Inevitably the mass movement causes the Great Leap Forward movement disastrous defeat. The historical practice also does prove that. Once more, it can be summarized that the mass movement is not suitable for the economic development. The means of the mass movement should not be used again in the economic construction. The essence of the Large-scale production campaign is a revolution war rather than economic development. And this fact provides sufficient evidence for people to explain that the mass movement is not suitable for the economic construction. The mass movement is not well suited to the economic development. But in modern society, some people still suggest reusing the means of the mass movement in the economic development. Based on the analysis of the nature of large-scale production campaign and the Great Leap Forward movement, this thesis explains that although the mass movement is a powerful weapon in a revolutionary war, but not suitable for the economic construction.,fact is a good evidence.We should look some measure from history , it also reminds people to renounce resolutely the way of mass movement in economic construction, and explore a constructive means that is suited to building of socialism with Chinese characteristics so as to make China's economy develop along the correct path.
